Black Girls Rock!

Ok, I’m going to keep this brief, but trust me, I could write a dissertation just on this show—this movement!  My heart is overwhelmed.  I am overjoyed by the Black Girls Rock! awards.  My 10-year-old daughter watched it with me (we had to get rid of the 4 year old because she was just too unruly) and it was an uplifting experience.  This show is true sisterhood.  This is exactly what I am trying to get at with my research.  Beverly Bond got it right.  We have to build a community.  We are the community.  We have to uplift our young Black girls and this is an awesome way to do it.  This movement encourages me to dig deep and rely on the creativity God has given me to try to build up my sisters.  Who’s with me?  How can you make a change?

Natural Hair Blogger Overhaul!

So, I’m so exhausted! I just finished my Excel sheet of natural hair bloggers…109 in all! I chose to use Essence, since they had a piece where viewers voted on their top 100 Instagramers (not all these Instagram users still had a working account…old list?) They also had a Christmas wish list by bloggers. Anyway, I ended up with 109. I will post the list soon, so you can let me know if there is someone I missed. I also have to update you on my research, but for now, I better get some sleep for church! Thank God we change the clocks back, so I get an extra hour!
